Mobile Phones Market To Increase Over 2.5 Billion By 2009

Mumbai, India - July 14 – Bharat Book Bureau, has added “ Asian Mobile Market - Analysis [2006-2009] ” ( http://www.bharatbook.com/detail.asp?id=12150 ) to its huge collection of Telecoms Reports.

The favorable growth in the telecomm sector in Asia-Pacific region owes to the record increase in the economy of this region and also the improved purchasing power of people. Adding at least one new user per second, Asia-Pacific region has come up as the world’s largest telecomm market, during the past four years, to outshine Europe.

Low average price of the handsets is considered to be a major driver, for the mobile phone service providers looking for a profitable market, in the Asia-Pacific region.

The world's appetite for mobile phones has exceeded even the most optimistic expectations. The subscriber base has grown to over 1.8 billion in the year 2005. Due to its prominent potential, the subscriber base will further increase to over 2.5 billion by the year 2009 and the deployment will extend to wider areas towards the end of this decade.

The key factor behind the bleak profitability in developing countries is the low average prices of handsets. Asia Pacific has become the strongest growing region globally, surpassing Europe as the market leader. Towards 2007, the region is expected to consolidate its position, aided by the expansion of the Chinese market. China and Japan are the largest markets in the Asia Pacific region.
