The latest report on the Central and Eastern European
automotive sector and the global car industry by Bharat Book
Bureau titled “Central and Eastern European Components
Sector (2007) edition” provides a comprehensive overview
of the components sector in the CEE. The report is useful to
know who is operating in the CEE region, what the future
prospects are and which countries the western manufacturers
are shifting to.
Central and Eastern Europe consists of countries like Czech
Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Croatia
etc. After the fall of communism in these countries, there
have been major and significant changes in their economies
as well as the automotive industry.
The CEE countries are still emerging markets, but with the
help of investments from global businesses, they are picking
up rapidly. This potent combination of factors makes Central
and Eastern Europe an important destination for new
investments. The region is seeing new beginnings as
established automakers have set up major manufacturing
operations in the region.
With the introduction of the EU status, which means that the
products produced in the CEE can be imported and sold in
other European Union states without import tariffs, the
nature of the car manufacturing sector has improved
significantly and the process is continuing.
The report provides a key analysis of the economic indicators as
well as the industries in the manufacturing sector like
Fiat, Opel,
Toyota, Škoda, Hyundai, Audi, and Suzuki etc. Information on
the logistics sector is also included, as growth in the
region has led to a major boost in logistics.
