Its principal operating subsidiaries include CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC (CenterPoint Houston) and CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp. (CERC Corp). CenterPoint Houston involves in the electric transmission and distribution business. In addition, its CERC Corp owns and operates natural gas distribution systems in six states. CERC Corp through its Subsidiaries own interstate natural gas pipelines and gas gathering systems and provide various ancillary services. As of December 2010, the company delivered natural gas to 3.3 million residential, commercial and industrial customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. In addition, it supplied electricity to 2.1 million metered customers in an area of 5,000-square-mile in the Houston metropolitan city. CenterPoint is headquartered in Houston, Texas, the US.
