Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is a Dubai-based power and water utility authority. It undertakes the generation, transmission and distribution of power. It conducts water desalination processes. The authority also conducts various other activities such as installation and maintenance of power plants, transmission system and meters, and e-billing services, among others. As of December 31, 2013, the authority had total installed capacity of 9,656 MW. It had total desalination capacity of 470 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) and 32 wells. Its water transmission comprised 1,088 km of 1,200 mm pipeline, 316 km of 900 mm pipeline and total reservoir capacity of 707 MIG. DEWA is headquartered in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
