The Indian automobile industry is soon to get revamped as we approach that time of the year during which auto manufacturers from around the globe will be launching their latest offering into the market. It’s time for the AUTO EXPO 2016 which is about to begin on the 5th of February and go on till the 9th of the same month. As always, the mega auto event is scheduled to happen in the national capital and auto companies from both domestic and international platforms have decked up for it.
Who’s doing what this time?
India’s second largest auto manufacturing company Hyundai Motors is all set to reveal its newest auto models with techs under the theme “Experience Hyundai”. Many already existing models are projected to come up revamped with latest technologies; whereas there are few models which will be launched. Sources suggest that the company is lining up in 12 zones with a collection of 17 new products.
The brand will uncover its Tucson which is a prestigious name for the company on the global platform under the SUV (sports utility vehicle). The auto maker is slotted to have several areas like the safety, sports, engagement and premium zone. The Future zone is the one which is looked up with great expectations as it will disclose many futuristic technologies and innovations worked up by the automobile company.
A relatively new participant (2nd Auto Expo) Japanese auto maker Nissan Motors will showcase a union of past, present and future using its much awaited car brand Dastun.
It has planned a crossover version, Dastun Go-cross which will make its debut at the event along with its Dastun Bluebird 1600 SS (150). The later is expected to be a rally car model which will refresh Nissan’s motorsport days of 1970’s.

The company is riding high on expectations on its brand Dastun Go and Go+; the upgraded version Dastun Go+ is termed to be a smart display vehicle which is extensively roomy in its interiors and will have an inbuilt gaming console according to the leaked information.
Eicher-the Trucks and Buses maker is assumed to be the biggest name in the heavy vehicles segment at the expo. The company is more likely to focus on various fleet management solutions in an attempt to convert the Indian logistics industry similar to first world economies.
The ones who are not IN-
There are quite a few BIG NAMES which will give the annual auto event a miss this year. Daimler India, Skoda Auto and Volvo cars are the most highlighted ones which will stay out of action this year. Of the domestic names-Bajaj Auto has surprised all by deciding not to take part whereas, two wheeler giants-Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield and Ducati have too expressed their disinterest for the irrespective reasons.
Overall; the Auto Expo 2016 is fitted to be an event which is awaited with bated breath by most of the automobile manufacturers. Watch out….Vroomm!!!
