Geographically, the company operates in various countries across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. Yara is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

The company focuses on strengthening its position in emerging countries through acquisitions and joint venture agreements. In line with this approach, the company acquired OFD Holdings Inc., with its fertilizer production facility in Cartagena, Colombia and other regional distribution network. Through the acquisition, the company expands its presence in Latin America. It also acquired 60% stake in Galvani Industria, Comercio e Serviços S/A, the acquisition would strengthen phosphate fertilizer capacity in the Brazil.
