SummaryTen years ago, East Africa was not a major oil and gas exploration basin despite drilling activity dating back to at least 1960. Now, Uganda and Kenya are estimated to have commercial recoverable reserves of 1 billion barrels of crude oil and Tanzania and Mozambique to have 130 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
