In all the other three levels of charging the level 3 is the fastest charging level. It delivers more power, faster and ideal for charging. This level provides DC (direct current) charging and can be installed in the residential areas too. On the other side the level 1 and 2 chargers AC (alternate current) into the electric vehicle and then it is converted into DC through a small onboard charger. As there is a limited space given inside the EV, the charge’s size is also limited. This is the reason behind having the maximum speed of level 2 around 22 kW to 43 kW.

The major difference between level 3 with DC charging and level 1 and 2 with AC charging. Its simple that the level 3 chargers convert the alternate current and direct current within a charging station and allows the direct current to flow directly from the station itself to the electric vehicle’s battery. The level 3 chargers don’t take much time to charge, can be fully charged in 10 to 15 minutes.
