Abstract This report entitled “Rigid Plastics Packaging for Consumer Markets in India to 2024-25” prepared by Madras Consultancy Group (MCG), Chennai, is the updated r edition of the earlier report published in 2016. The report provides an independent and comprehensive analysis of the rigid plastics packaging industry and detailed forecasts till 2024-25. Methodology This report is based on exhaustive secondary research from various sources including MCG’s library cum database, packaging-related journals, published articles from associations, annual reports of major converters and brand owners, white papers, and other on-line databases. Estimates of the market values for 2019-20 are at current prices and the forecast for 2024-25 is at 2019-20 prices. All estimates and forecasts are provided for the financial year, commencing April 1, and ending March 31 of the ensuing year. The currency used in this report is the Indian Rupee (INR). This report is being released in the midst of extreme economic uncertainties arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic. While a moderate view of the impact of the pandemic/lockdowns has been taken while estimating demand for 2020-21 in this report, it is distinctly possible that there may be a larger downturn in demand during the rest of the year. Thus, a clearer picture is likely to emerge by the 3rd quarter of FY 21 and hence, the present estimate of demand for 2020-21 and beyond may be treated as indicative."
