The word “halal” means “permissible”. As per Islamic laws and traditions, halal food and beverages refer to only those edible items which are permissible to consume. The rules are however not only limited to what to eat but also enlists rules and regulations as to how the food has to be raised, slaughtered and processed. The global halal food and beverages market is one of the fastest emerging consumer markets in the world.
